High Court

HMRC had been seeking an order blocking a proposed Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) put together to help the club out of administration.
HMRC has announced that it will not appeal against the High Court ruling.

Nine Points Deduction Confirmed

The Premier League today confirmed that Pompey have been deducted nine points for entering into administration.
The PL said in a statement: “Following the High Court’s decision that Portsmouth FC’s administration is valid, the Premier League board convened today to apply the League’s rules and policies in relation to a member club suffering an event of insolvency.
“As a result, Portsmouth FC has been deducted nine points with immediate effect.
“As part of this process the board met with the administrator to agree how we will work together for the remainder of the season to ensure that the club is able to fulfil its commitments.”

Portsmouth FC enters into administration

At 10:20am today Portsmouth Football Club was placed into administration following the filing of a notice of appointment at the High Court by the chargeholder, Portpin Limited.
Andrew Andronikou, of UHY Hacker Young, has been appointed joint administrator of Portsmouth Football Club together with Peter Kubik and Michael Kiely.
