Midfielder Liam Trotter is red-carded for an innocuous tackle on Pedro Mendes in the first half. Ipswich kept their spirit however and Pompey were made to work hard for the win.

A tidy finish from David Nugent settles the tie at Portman Road and ends Ipswich's impressive unbeaten home run.
